TRIAD and ABC,Inc

At present, there is no formal training in ABA therapy offered anywhere in Southern Africa. Both Melanie Harding and Paola Reggiani have recently undertaken an intensive training course in ABA therapy overseas, and continue to further their training under Dr. Joseph Morrow and Ms. Brenda Terzich, through Applied Behavior Consultants, Inc, based in Sacramento, United States of America. ABC,Inc. have offered their full support to TRIAD in aiding us to offer effective and comprehensive ABA therapy in South Africa. They further expressed how impressed they had been that we had gone to such great lengths to try and help our children with ASD in Durban, South Africa.

Melanie and Paola have recently begun an online course in Applied Behaviour Analysis, through the University of North Texas, USA, that, upon completion, will have fulfilled the theoretical requirements necessary for becoming Board Certified Associate Behaviour Analysts, according to official ABA requirements in the States.

TRIAD has received a firm commitment in terms of a partnership from the highly esteemed Dr. Joseph Morrow, and his partner Ms.Brenda Terzich, founders of Applied Behavior Consultants, Inc, in Sacramento, California. ABC, Inc. has offered training worldwide, and has helped to start four ABA Early Intervention centres in China, with phenomenal results.

ABC, Inc. advocate ABA therapy as the most successful means of treatment for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and wish for all children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder within Durban, and the greater Kwa-Zulu Natal region, to have access to this therapy. ABC, Inc. are prepared to provide ongoing training, support, and access to resources needed for TRIAD staff, in order to develop an early intervention ABA programme for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder in Durban, South Africa.

ABC,Inc colleagues have trained numerous TRIAD staff in their June 2006 workshop in South Africa, and will be returning to provide ongoing staff training in March 2008, as well as to present workshops for parents and professionals on various aspects of behaviour management. Their support remains invaluable in ensuring that our staff receive the best possible training and resources for our children here at TRIAD Behaviour Consultants therapy centre.
