Your child has their own ABA programme developed to address his/her skill deficits, and to suit his/her needs. This programme focuses on the reduction of negative behaviours that hinder your child's learning, as well as the increase in positive behaviours your child needs in order to learn effectively. Your child's areas of skill deficit are analysed, and a comprehensive programme is drawn up to target these deficits. The following skill areas are assessed:

• » Expressive language (receptive object labelling, vocalizations, picture exchange communication, manual gestures)

• » Imitation (Gross/fine motor; vocal)

Your child's individualized programme will also focus upon enhancing all levels of functional communication. Only positive reinforcement is used to help your child reach and maintain his/her goals.
